The South African Shippers' Council (Council) serves as a representative body of Cargo Owners in Southern Africa. The objective of this document is to provide a summary of the formal view of the Council regarding specific matters concerning its role on behalf of its members.

The Council's objective, in the broadest sense, is to represent the interests of Members throughout the total supply chain, exclusive of logistics matters related to people. This representation of interests has a bearing on the members as cargo owners inclusive of their internal transport and storage of products and materials.
